New Year’s Resolutions && How to stick to them!

Ok, so I don’t know about you but I love the idea of a fresh start. A whole year ahead with endless possibilities, it’s refreshing! I thought I’d write a blog post on this, for both you and I on how to stick to those initial first intentions..

First things first, make a list. A vision board also works great too. I usually end up making one by the end of January; use pictures and words of things that remind you of your goals for 2019. After you’ve done this, here are a few things to keep in mind. ♥

Don’t wait for the perfect moment, take the moment and make it perfect! – Unknown

  1. Make realistic goals, start small and then work your way up. They say it takes 29 days to create a new habit, once you’ve somewhat mastered this new goal, then start working on another. Take your time. An example of this would be to purchase a reusable water bottle if a goal of yours is to be more environmentally conscious, it’s a goal of mine! Small things like that have a big impact, once you start doing something daily, you’ll realize this.
  2. Research this new goal on Pinterest. Pinterest has everything from healthy recipes, how to’s, wardrobe styling and more. I promise it will give you MAJOR inspo and help keep you on track! Just create a board and start pinning. Target has a major sale on exercise clothes right now and they have some really cute stuff.
  3. Track your progress, I recently got a “financial guru” planner from Target and I’m obsessed! [This one is soo cute & isn’t sold in stores] Not only is it the cutest thing but I’ve already started using it, paying bills and it will definitely help me towards my goal of saving more! Tracking your progress whether in a fancy journal or on your phone will help keep you accountable. Hey, who knows, you may even reward yourself when you see how far you’ve come..I always like to look back on pictures and things to see where I was during that time.. here’s some more great things from Target.
  4. Allow room for error. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Maybe you start a new workout routine but it doesn’t seem to work for you, rather than giving up, try it another way. I’ll be the first to admit, when the going gets tough, we want to go, not keep going. I promise, 6 months down the line, you’ll be happy you didn’t quit. If we’re really going to do this, then we have to commit.
  5. Invest in yourself! If you don’t, then who will? I know we’re all busy, but we have to make the time for these things. There’s a reason you have that goal, think about how attaining it will affect your life?

I’d love to hear some of your goals for the new year! How do you plan on attaining them?

I have a couple of things I want to focus on this upcoming year! I really think that a vision board will be a great daily reminder to keep going and stay focused! ♥️

    • Yes, I agree. I love vision boards, they are a visual representation of what you want to manifest. Anything to help you meet this goals. Xx, Jas
