Nashville, TN

Hello everyone, if you’ve been following me then you know I had the privilege to go to TN for work. I was beyond thrilled as I had never been and always wanted to go.

It was beautiful – just as I had imagined it to be! The weather was incredible (40-50 degrees everyday), crisp fall leaves, yummy food and good company. I am so happy I was able to go..

My co-workers stayed at the gorgeous, exclusive Gaylord Opryland hotel. [I couldn’t stay because they were completely booked]. This place is a dream! It was huge and full of greenery everywhere. It has many different atriums.. each one decorated differently with hanging guitars and lots of different ornaments. Nashville is known for music, especially country music. The hotel rooms had the cutest balconies..

I actually went to a work conference for a software tech company, Applied, that enables insurance companies to reach their goals and help conquer insurance in the digital era.

I recommend traveling to the Belle Meade Plantation or (Belle Meade, TN). I went to a quaint little restaurant called ‘Le Peep’ and ate biscuits and gravy.. OH MA GAWD. While there, we went to this plantation and took a full tour of the place including a wine tasting. It was astonishing the amount of history Tennessee has. The plantation was preserved just as it was at the time, complete with Victorian era decor. Sadly, I don’t have pics from the inside [we weren’t allowed to take] but here are pics of the exterior.

I even purchased homemade caramel apple jelly.. extremely delicious and I was able to take back a piece of TN with me.

Believe it or not, there are so many things to do in Nashville. Whether you go to downtown like we did, bar hopping, sight seeing, plenty of museums and plantations. I hope to go back to be able to explore and go to the vineyard that I didn’t get to make it too.

The Opryland was even bigger than I imagined, I see why everyone is caught up in that “southern charm”. It felt cozy and warm. The people of TN were welcoming.. it was a nice change of pace.

In Downtown Nashville we went to a couple of bars and just generally wanted to sight see. The AT & T Tower is called the “Batman Building” and I mean look at it, its pretty cool.

I was also able to attend a concert at the ‘Grand Ole Opry’, TN’s concert hall. It was country concert and I have to admit that while I only like some country, I had an amazing time! Country music is fun and makes you want to dance. We were able to see Darius Rucker (from Hootie & the Blowfish), Chris Janson & Maggie Rose to name a few.

I spent a total of 4 days in TN and I loved it.. I can’t wait to go back! I definitely recommend that you visit and enjoy the delicious food and that southern hospitality everyone is talking about.
